Edible Finger Paint for Babies
I’ve been so looking forward to the day Emmy and I can start doing crafts together! While this is definitely not one that I got too involved with, Emmy had a blast!
It took her a few minutes to figure out what was going on, but then she got REALLY into it! I’m pretty sure there was more paint on her body than the shower curtain.
Plus, this activity doubled as play time AND snack time!
Here’s what you will need to make your edible finger paint:
- 1 quart plain or vanilla flavored yogurt
- Food coloring of your choice (we ordered neon!)
- Disposable cups for mixing color and yogurt
- A shower curtain liner (you can get them for $2.50 at Walmart, go ahead and buy a few!)
- 3 or 4 old towels
I loved that I had most of these products already lying around the house! I added 3 large spoonful’s of yogurt into disposable cups and added 6-8 drops of food coloring. Mix well until you cannot see anymore white.
I added the final product of each color to a plastic chip dip holder from the dollar store.
Before we got started, I grabbed 3 old dish rags and got one of them soaking wet. Be sure you take the towels out BEFORE you get started to avoid having to carry a messy baby indoors!
We hope your little one enjoys this activity as much as ours did! More sensory activity ideas below!
