This printable worksheet is a great way to introduce the concept of patterns to toddlers.
When I sat down with Emmy to start this activity, the first thing we worked on was recognizing the pattern. We went through each line on the four dot page and talked through it. Recognizing a pattern is the first step.
From there, we went back up and talked about making the pattern longer. “We found a pink, purple, pink, purple pattern here, what color would come next to make this pattern longer?”.
There are alot of options you can use to complete the patters. We opted for coloring in but pom-poms or not markers are another great option (pom-pom’s also gives you the opportunity to complete this worksheet more than one time!).
