Marble Christmas Tree Painting
Last month, we shared our marble leaf painting. It was our first time doing this sort of activity and just one look at the photos and you can tell Nora LOVED it!
This activity really works the hand-eye coordination. It’s definitely challenging, but in the best way possible.
We start by cutting out the blank tree (grab a copy of this below), and adding a bit of blue painters tape to the back to hold it in place.
I then place small amounts of paint around the outside of the paper, add the marble in and let Nora get to work!
We use plastic craft trays from Lakeshore Learning for this activity, but a cardboard box would work great too!
As far as paint, we’ve used a variety of kinds and there doesn’t seem to be one that works better or worse. I would suggest using card stock paper if you’ve got it! As the paint dries it tends to make thinner paper curl.
Nora finished off herChristmas tree by using some glitter paint to add ornaments and a star. This activity was just as much a hit the second time around as it was the first! I’m sure there will be much more marble painting in our future.
