Hand & Feet Hopscotch
This is a fun gross motor activity that also is a great energy burner! Both our 4-year-old and 6-year-old really enjoyed this activity. It was easy to set up and continued to provide fun for many days! I’ve included a link below to download a PDF version of the graphics I used so you can print them at home!
Defining Gross Motor Activities
A gross motor activity is defined as any activity that involves the larger muscles in the arms, legs, and torso. Basically, if it involves moving their whole body, it’s a gross motor skill activity! Working on gross motor skills helps a child improve their physical abilities and can also help them feel more confident in their body and the way they move.
Tips for Setting up your Hopscotch
You can download your Hopscotch printable below. The printable includes one of each graphic (double feet, single foot, hands, etc). To make it extra fun, print multiple of each graphic. The more variations you make in the hopscotch, the more challenging it will be! I would also suggest setting this up in an area where you would be ok with leaving it for a few days. Ours stayed on the ground for about a week and the kids completed it just about every time they walked by it. It seemed to get easier for them the more they practiced!
