Fall Sensory Bin For Toddlers
Sensory activities are a wonderful way to engage your child’s creativity and stimulate their senses. Combining textures, colors, and even scents are a wonderful way to encourage your toddler to play, create, and explore.
With the Fall season in full swing (meaning we are experiencing 85 degree temperatures in Texas as opposed to 95), I decided to put together a Fall Sensory Bin for Emmy and Nora.
We started with a base of popcorn kernels. The color and texture of these was perfect a a base for a Fall bin.
I then added small object such as acorns, pine cones and leaves. Most of these items were also used in our Fall Play Dough Kit. Most of these items are from Hobby Lobby. I always suggest to shop as early as possible in the season for these things as they will likely be 40-60% off!
If you have been following Little Learning Club, you know how much we love our FLISAT sensory table from Ikea. Not only is it a great table for the price, but it makes for SUCH easy storage for sensory activities. Once the girls are done playing, I simply place the cover back on, making it a fully functioning table for coloring, crafts, or general play. A few days later, I will remove the covers and we play again!
How do u prevent the child not to put the sensory Ben objects into their mouths
We’ve been doing sensory bins for quite some time so I think my littles have heard me say “that is not food, do not put it in your mouth” about a million times! Whenever they try to do it, I distract them with another fun way to play with whatever it is they are interested in tasting. Over time, I feel like they attempt to put things in their mouth less and less, but I still stay with them al all times to be safe!
