How to Make Moon Dough with Conditioner and Corn Starch
Move over Moon Sand… we’ve got a new favorite sensory item!
Moon sand has been requested from my girls for what feel like a year or more. It’s simple to make and keeps them so entertained…but I will admit it can get messy.
With how things are with life right now (just living the Pandemic dream over here), I am aiming to reduce stress and that means reducing messes. So the hunt began for a new sensory activity to keep these kiddos entertained.
Meet Moon Dough!
How to Make Cloud Dough
Just like most of our sensory activities, this was easy to whip up. Just 1 cup of Corn Starch and 1/2 a cup of conditioner.
When it comes to mixing this, I would NOT suggest using your hands. Start with a spoon until it is well mixed, then remove it from the bowl and kneed with your hands.
I opted to do blue food coloring with gold glitter. The first thing Nora made with her dough was an Elsa castle, which I should have guessed! Anything blue and sparkly is instantly Frozen!
As the name states, this dough has a cloud-like feel to it. It is much less dense than play-dough, but holds together more than moon sand.
