Sharing is caring!

Letter of the Day Activities

Anyone who has been part of the Little Learning Club community knows I love worksheets. Partially because I have seen such progress with my toddler and her development while using them, but also because SHE loves them! She requests to sit and do “school time” ALL. THE. TIME!

I recently shared that we have been working on a new letter each day in order to help Emmy with her letter recognition and sounds associated with that letter.

You can see how we are working through each letter with the worksheets shown below. You can grab a copy of them here!

While worksheets are great, I also know how beneficial it is to have a wide variety of activities. We’ve also started doing a hand-on craft that starts with our same letter of the day. We’ve only just begun, but it has been super fun!

If you are not following us on Instagram yet, that is where we will be sharing our daily projects! Follow along here.

Before we started this educational endeavor, I spent some time on Pinterest researching which crafts we would do each do so I could prepare and gather supplies.

I tried to stick with somewhat similar style activities (lots of paper plate and handprint style crafts). This kept the cost  of supplies low and less stuff to store over the weeks.

So with that being said… here is our plan! One fun project each day! I’ve tagged all the blogs where these ideas came from, so if you see one you really love, be sure to browse their site for more.

Enjoy!

Letter A Activity

How cute is this apple stamping activity from Premeditated Leftovers?  I love how they added the apple seeds to their painting as well!

We have already completed our letter A activity! Check it out below!

Letter B Activity

B is for BUS! This is a simple craft that allows for a wide variety of age groups. With little ones, you can pre-cut the brown or black squares and circles that make up the windows and wheels. With older kiddos who has started mastering the scissor skills, allow them to cut out the shapes. Either way, I know there are a ton of bus loving tots out there who would love this activity! Letter C Activity

C is for Caterpillar! The Very Hungry Caterpillar is one of our favorite books (if you don’t have a copy, grab on here!) and this craft accompanies it so well! Brought to you by Toys In The Dryer

Letter D Activity

Both of my kids love any and all handprint crafts. There’s something about getting their hands all messy that gets them so excited! So this Duck activity is the perfect craft for Letter D Day! Photo via 123 Homeschool 4 me

Letter E Activity

E is for Elephant! Another great paper plate activity from Crafty Corner DIY. Your toddler can paint there elephant any color their want!

Letter F Activity

I can’t get over how adorable this Fish tank is! Your kiddos can get super creative with what they add to their tank; flowers, a small fish house, even a mama fish and a baby fish! Craft from Director Jewels.

Letter G Craft

G is for Giraffe! This craft is so simple yet so fun and cute! If you don’t have brown pom poms on hand, you can simply have your kiddo draw on the brown spots. Craft from Glued to My Crafts Blog

Letter H Activity

H is for Haircut! I’ve never met a toddler who doesn’t jump at the opportunity to use their training scissors. This is a great activity to accompany Letter H day but also a great find motor skill activity. Brought to you by Laughing Kids Learn

Letter I activity

I is for Ice Painting! A fun way to put a twist on painting. Challenge your kiddos to draw other things that begin with the letter I with their ice paint: an iguana, ice cream or an igloo! Full detail on how to make ice paint on Powerful Mothering

Letter J Activity

J is for Jellyfish! If you do not have pipe cleaners on hand, string or streamers would work too! Craft from The Growing Creatives.

Letter K Activity

K is for Kite. A quick Pinterest search for “kite crafts” gives you so many options! This one from Fun Learning Life   looked to be most like my 2 and 4 years old’s craft ability. I’d probably swap out the paper at the bottom of the kite for streamers and allow the girls to decorate the front with stickers and paint!

Letter L Activities

L is for Lady Bug! Anyone else sensing a theme with the paper plates here? They are such a great base for so many crafts! This sweet design made by Non Toy Gifts.

Letter M Activities

M is for Mushroom! How adorable is this? Simply yet so cute! Craft from Non Toy Gifts

M is also for Moon Sand!

Moon sand is by FAR one of the most popular post on Little Learning Club… and for good reason! It is super easy to make (just two ingredients!), kids LOVE it and it can be store in an air tight container for weeks! You can get the full recipe here.

N is for Noodles!

Noodle sensory bins (we also call them spaghetti bins) have been a long time favorite of ours! We’ve done rainbow noodles, Christmas colored noodles and even Halloween noodles! They are easy to make and so fun! I’d definitely suggest putting down an old sheet or shower curtain liner because it does get messy! Details on how to make it here.

Letter O Activity

O is for Owl! This owl activity also doubles as a color matching activity. We will not likely swap the play dough for construction paper and glue or tape on our wings. I think we might also add a popsicle stick to the back so they can fly around!  Via To Be A Kid Again

Letter P Activity

P is for Peacock! If you have never tried straw painting before, it is such a great twist on traditional painting. I am definitely looking forward to doing this with my girls. Idea from the Pinterested Parent

Letter Q Activity

Q is for Q Tip painting! Not only is q-tip painting fun, it’s also a great fine motor skill activity. These worksheets are from Paper Scissor Craft and can be downloaded here.

Letter R Activity

R is for Rainbow. My girls are big fans of all things rainbow so I am sure this will be a hit. Craft idea from Glued to My Craft Blog

Letter S Activity

S is for snake!  Snake spots could be made with dot markers, dot stickers, q-tips or even thumb prints. Idea via Pinterest.

Letter T Activity

T is for Tree! Again… these handprint projects are always a hit! Project via Kindergarten Worksheets and Games

Letter U Activity

U is for Unicorn!  Something else my girls just love! Pinterest also has a cute toilet paper role unicorn craft as well. I’m leaning towards this one but we will see! Handprint Unicorn via Pinterest.

Letter V Activity

V is for Vase and Volcano! I want to stick with the craft theme, but I also knew when I started researching these 26 activities that I would HAVE to do a volcano on V day! The Vase craft is from Fun Handcraft Blog.

Letter W Activity

W is for watermelon! Our final paper plate project of the series! Idea from Ceres Child Care

Letter X Activity

X is for X ray! While I try not to play favorites, I am SO excited for this activity!  Image via Pinterest.
